Dr. Sharla Ansorge has a passion for feline medicine.

She began her career with animals as a wildlife rehabilitator, and later worked with Guide Dogs for the Blind. She graduated from UC Davis in 2008, a member of the veterinary honor society, Phi Zeta. Dr. A has extensive experience in avian and exotics and feline medicine, emergency and urgent care, shelter medicine, and animal behavior. Previously the medical director for Emerald City Pet Rescue and for Pandemonium Aviaries, she has also volunteered time with various wildlife and rescue groups. At this stage in her career, she has given in to her overwhelming first love - cats - and will be focusing intently on feline medicine and surgery. She is Fear Free Level 2 certified and has a strong focus on low stress, patient-friendly handling and client education, helping to keep the bond between pets and their humans strong and healthy. Dr. A spends her free time entertaining, snuggling, and cleaning up after her two small parrots and two cats. She loves the outdoors, hiking, biking, birding, and kayaking, reading and watching sci-fi and fantasy stories, cooking up tasty vegetarian food, and spending lots of quality time with her husband and the rest of the family.
